Regardless of the timing of Special Inspection or Intermediate Inspection, Occasional Inspection must be conducted in the following cases, in addition to alterations or repairs that may affect the seaworthiness of the ship or the maintenance of human life safety. However, this excludes repairs that involve replacing the hull, engine-related objects, and fittings with certified products (type-approved products), etc. for the first time.
When attempting to mark a new load waterline.
When attempting to establish new radio facilities, etc.
New construction, expansion, replacement, or removal of objects related to the hull and machinery that are not fixed to the ship, and fittings.
When attempting to change the antifouling method of a ship.
When receiving the issuance or endorsement of an International Anti-Fouling System Certificate.
When attempting to release and adjust the boiler safety valve blockade.
When attempting to change the specified load limit, angle limit, or radius limit for the Cargo Handling Gear.
When attempting to change the specified load limit or capacity for an elevator.
When attempting to make changes to the Safety Management Manual and Disaster Countermeasures Emergency Measures Manual that may have a significant impact on ensuring navigational safety.
When attempting to make changes that may affect stability and maneuverability.
When the time has come to undergo a designated Occasional Inspection regarding a specific matter.
When there is a change in the matters inspected due to a maritime accident or other reasons that may affect the seaworthiness of the ship or the preservation of human life safety.
When attempting to change the Conditions, if any, of navigation stated in the Ship Inspection Certificate.
When attempting to receive the Temporally Alteration Certificate.
